Laurent Giroux first gained critical acclaim throughout the United States and Canada when he was chosen to play KING HEROD in Jesus Christ Superstar the A.D. Tour, starring Ted Neeley, Carl Anderson and Irene Cara. Prior to that he appeared as THE STREET SINGER in The Threepenny Opera with Betty Buckley directed by Peter Hunt for The Williamstown Theatre Festival in 1991 and again in the 2003 production. Laurent was then cast by director Martin Charnin in the role of ROOSTER HANNIGAN in the 20th Anniversary Production of Annie opposite Nell Carter and then Sally Struthers.

More recently Mr. Giroux was featured in the National Tour of The Light in the Piazza directed by Bartlett Sher. On BROADWAY Laurent appeared in Ambassador, Two Gentlemen of Verona, and for director Bob Fosse in Pippin, Chicago, and Dancin’.He was also featured in the Broadway and National Tour of Zorba starring Anthony Quinn. Laurent was understudy to and performed the role of NEVILLE LANDLESS in the New York Shakespeare Festival production of The Mystery of Edwin Drood directed by Wilford Leach. Mr.Giroux was then cast as FELIX FRANKFURTER { Warbuck’s lawyer } in the ill-fated production of ANNIE 2 Miss Hannigan’s Revenge which opened and consequently closed at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., never making it to Broadway.

Regionally Mr. Giroux was M. le MARQUIS in The Baker’s Wife at the Goodspeed Opera House and Paper Mill Playhouse, which was directed by Gordon Greenberg and filmed for The Lincoln Center Archives . He has also played THE HEADWAITER in She Loves Me at the St. Louis Rep., Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park and the Great Lakes Theater Festival for director Victoria Bussert and again at the West Virginia Public Theatre.

At The American Musical Theatre of San Jose he was BELA ZANGLER in Crazy For You and HENRI LABISSE in Victor, Victoria. Laurent was AMBROISE VOLLARD in La Vie En Bleu and MONSIEUR D’ ARQUE in Beauty and the Beast at the Walnut Street Theatre. For Atlanta’s Theater of the Stars he has appeared as JACOB/POTIPHAR in Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and as THENARDIER in Les Miserables and as RICHARD MAYNARD in Moon Over Buffalo at the Charlotte Repertory Theatre. On FILM Mr. Giroux can be seen in Far From Heaven Directed by Todd Haynes.
